Italy - Liechtenstein: Imminent Exachange Information
Liechtenstein is one of the first States to ratify agreements on Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information.
Liechtenstein will implement the automatic exchange informations with Italy. At the end of 2017 so the Italian Tax Authority will know all names of Italian taxpayers that holds bank financial accounts in Liechtenstein.
Moreover it will implement also the exchange information based on recent treaty between Italy and Liechtenstein with the possibility of “group requests” concerning “close accounts”, “substantially emptied”, “inactive accounts” existing from February 26th 2015.
Therefore the Italian taxpayers with bank financial account in Liechtenstein should consider the opportunity to access to the Voluntary Disclousure Program to regularized their position.
