PATERNITY LEAVE

With the referendum of 27 September 2020, it has been accepted the paternity leave. Fathers with a lucrative business are entitled to two weeks of paternity leave (maximum 14 daily allowances) during the six months following the birth of their child. To compensate for the loss of earnings, they receive an allowance equal to 80 percent of the average earned income subject to AHV earned before the birth of the child, up to a maximum amount of 196 swiss francs per day.
