Bern, 18.01.2018 - The Secretary of State for International Financial Matters (SFI) has set up a working group dedicated to blockchain’s technology and ICOs; the group will work in collaboration with the Federal Office of Justice (FOJ), with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and in close cooperation with industry operators.
The group intends to assess the legal framework conditions of specific blockchain technology applications to the financial sector, paying particular attention to the <Initial Coin Offerings> (ICOs).
The aim of the work is to increase legal certainty, in order to safeguard the integrity of the financial center and guarantee neutral regulation in the technological field.
In particular, the desire to clarify the legal framework is aimed at maintaining the attractiveness of Switzerland in this sector.
